Primal Sound delivers inclusive, professionally facilitated wellbeing experiences that support connection, calm and resilience across university and college settings.

From energising group drumming and boomwhacker sessions for welcome events and teambuilding, to restorative soundbaths, meditation, movement and practical stress-relief skills, we help students and staff relax, reconnect and feel more balanced during busy academic life.

Led by Sarah Westwood and her team, sessions are accessible to all and designed to fit into wellbeing programmes, teaching schedules and events — from energising starts of term to supportive pauses during high-pressure periods.

Boomwhacker & Drum Sessions

Boomwhackers are vibrant, tuned tubes that make a rainbow-coloured orchestra.

They’re colourful and brilliantly inclusive: within minutes, students are engaged in creating music together with a perfect combination of melody and rhythm.

Sessions can be delivered using purely Boomwhackers or combined with the power of drums for a dynamic experience.

Soundbaths — immersive sound experiences using gongs, singing bowls, chimes and soft percussion to guide people into deep calm. Each layer is created with musical sensitivity and intention, allowing the mind to quieten as the body relaxes.

Guided Relaxation — deeply restorative sessions inspired by yoga nidra and body scan techniques. With gentle guidance and subtle live sound, participants are supported into effortless rest, releasing tension and restoring mental and physical ease.

Meditation — accessible guided practices that support focus and emotional balance. Sessions are suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike.
