Since ancient times people have used chanting to help calm and focus the mind and access deeper levels of awareness.
Chanting is wonderful for us. It is an ACTIVE mindfulness practice that is expressive, joyful and supremely healing ♥♥♥
- The rhythmic breathing and sound vibration deeply relaxes and revitalises
- Balances nervous and endocrine systems
- Calms brainwaves
- Releases a cascade of feel-good hormones
- Builds a strong sense of inner connection
Regular chanting is rewarding for anyone, and is especially helpful for those with anxiety, stress, depression or chronic pain issues.
You don’t need a strong voice! It is about joining our voices together to create healing vibrations within our bodies and minds.
We use simple Sanskrit mantras, such as the universal ‘Om’, to bring us into a beautiful sense of peace – centred, grounded and ‘connected’.
What happens at a chanting session?
Sarah’s sessions dive deeply into healing chant practices, with exercises to open our voices, simple Sanskrit mantras, and short periods of guided and silent meditation.
We begin with a series of warm up exercises to prepare our voices for chanting. We ‘tone’ the beautiful mantras on one note and as a group make a continuous sea of sound – the marvellous sound of human voices together, that soothes, uplifts and re-energises.
Before you know it, you feel beautifully relaxed, tingling with energy and ready to face the world renewed.
These are open, friendly gatherings – and you are very welcome.
