“…a big THANK YOU for another brilliant drumming session. Everyone really looks forward to the sessions.” Multiple Sclerosis Exercise Class
“Sarah has excellent inter-personal skills. She maintains an unvaryingly positive atmosphere in her classes.” South Birmingham NHS
What do sessions involve?
Sarah brings a beautiful array of traditional West African drums and percussion instruments, including djembes, dundun bass drums, talking drums and a variety of bells & shakers. The session is fully interactive and of course lots of fun.
Starting with basic techniques and call & response games, we build all the elements of an exhilarating piece of music using traditional and created rhythms. It is highly accessible whilst providing an appropriate challenge, so participants can be truly proud of what they accomplish. It is rare to have the chance to play in a band, let alone a big drumming band, so it invariably provides a thrilling, truly memorable experience.
Sarah has worked extensively with community groups, and in particular with people who have suffered strokes, have Multiple Sclerosis and with those in care. Here are some responses…
“I would like to say a big THANK YOU for another brilliant drumming session. As you know everyone in the class thoroughly enjoys your visits and really looks forward to the sessions. Your skill at making it so much fun just makes us all want more!”
“Sarah has excellent inter-personal skills. She maintains an unvaryingly positive atmosphere in her classes and there is always a strong forward momentum which is very compelling.”
